Well first let me say that I have tried about a dozen times to upload video for this post. Each time to no avail, which is beyond frustrating. However, I was able to grab a few stills from the video, and get those uploaded - hence the poor picture quality. So for that I apologize! I'm going to keep trying to get the video uploaded because it is hilarious! I'm talking America's Funniest Home Videos funny. Anyway... If you've been following our blog for a while, you may remember a post title similar to this one called,
Maia's Christmas Surprise. There were pictures of Maia wearing this cute shirt that read, "I'm the BIG Sister." Which was how we announced the upcoming arrival of a new baby. In these pictures, Josie is wearing the shirt now. You probably don't have to be a genius to figure out what that means! On Valentine's night, we told the girls that I was going to be having another baby. Josie was in her own world of course, but Maia was beyond thrilled.
Maia thinks its fun when I point out clothes that once belonged to her, that Josie now wears. So here I'm telling her, "this used to be your shirt and you wore it when we found out you were going to be a big sister because there was a baby in my belly."
Here is Josie announcing, "I've got a baby in my belly."
The news is finally sinking in with Maia.
Maia proclaiming, "This is going to be the coolest house ever!" I think Maia may have meant this would be the craziest house ever. That's certainly how it feels some days, but that's what makes it interesting.
Was this planned? I admit I have asked this question myself, a time or two. But now that I feel like I'm being asked that by every other person, I find it sort of odd. But nevertheless, the answer is no and yes. To be totally honest, another child was not something that was in our immediate plans. We had talked about it several times and my desire was to have more children. Robert went back and forth but usually leaned toward the side of not having more kids. But, regardless of where each of us stood, we'd agreed that due to everything going on in our lives at the moment (namely, the never ending process of adding on to our home and Rob finishing some architectural testing), that it would be best to wait. The Lord had other plans... Despite our precautions, I got pregnant. So even though the reality of adding another person to our family took some getting used to, I trust fully in God's providence in our lives and know that ultimately this child was planned by Him. And that gives me peace. Sovereign Lord, thank You for loaning us and trusting us with another one of Your creations. Guide us with each step we take, so that we may never loose our footing as we continue training these children in Your ways. Please let our lives - as a family unit and individually - bring You alone glory.
